Business Opportunity

Being an ISR instructor is a professional opportunity as well as a community service. Instructor candidates must have a desire to support our mission--to prevent drowning and enrich the lives of children--as well as a willingness to manage your own business.

An ISR instructor is an independent contractor who is certified to use the ISR technique. It will be up to you to decide how much you wish to charge for lessons, the number of hours you will work per day and where you will provide your services.

When your training is complete, you will have:

  • The knowledge to teach ISR's self-rescue skills to babies and children
  • The certification to demonstrate your qualifications as an ISR instructor
  • The ability to work as much as or as little as you would like
  • National support systems, more than 250 instructors nationwide
  • Strong leadership team and Master Instructor Mentoring
  • Peer advisors
  • Business building coaches
  • Registration evaluation team and the support of an advertising review team

Growing Your Business

ISR Instructors are certified, making them uniquely trained among all other national swim instructors for the safe and proven delivery of water self-rescue skills to infants and toddlers.

As an ISR instructor you will be able to quickly grow your business through a powerful word-of-mouth referral source. ISR research shows that for every parent who enrolls a child in ISR’s swimming lessons, ISR receives referrals from those customers to four potential customers.

Through the ISR instructor e-Business Center, you will also have access to pre-approved advertising materials and ISR’s corporate brochure, with the capability to customize your contact information and use at your own discretion.

Qualifications to becoming an ISR Instructor:

  • A strong desire to be a part of our endeavor to make children safe in and around the water
  • Love and have a willingness to work with children and their families from all walks of life
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, are helpful
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and in good physical and emotional health
  • A college degree is helpful, but not required
